The Fatality–Predestination Binomial and the Impact of Ibsenian Theatre on Societies Deprived of Fundamental Freedoms. Case Study: Ibsen’s Theatre during the Period of Socialist Realism in the Balkans. [The project is grounded in a personal yet highly contemporary premise: The theatre approaches agony when it is recited by those who do not know how to read (A. K.). In contemporary society, mimicry in the performing arts follows the euphemistic tendencies generated by the superficialization of life and increasingly attempts to replace what is essential. Against this background, the study examines the enduring relevance of Henrik Ibsen’s dramatic universe and its reception in Balkan societies subjected to dictatorship and socialist realism. RO / SQ]
