In a corner of old Tirana, a blind boy builds something unseen with matchstick threads, on the edge between matter and spirit. For over eighty years, events unfold simultaneously in two stories that often contradict each other.

Călătoria în Europa,
printre vii și morți, a unui scriitor căruia „toate nenorocirile i s-au
întâmplat când lipsea undeva”. Într-o lume în care exilul a ajuns la modă
aproape cât crima, scriitorul se străduiește să descopere dacă omul este un
blestem sau o binecuvântare pentru spatiile pe care le ocupă sau le părăsește,
uluit și uneori chiar jignit că mereu există și întrebări mai grave.
The journey through
Europe, among the living and the dead, of a writer to whom "all
misfortunes happened while he was away somewhere." In a world where exile
is almost as fashionable as crime, the writer strives to discover whether man
is a curse or a blessing for the spaces he inhabits or abandons — stunned, and
sometimes even offended, to realize that there are even more troubling
questions.
